Winging It

With the last Henry Potter movie opening the week (07/13/2011) it might be interesting to learn some things about the   Great Snowy Owl. Here's a great picture taken by Barry Goggin  posted on Flickr

What does "winging it" mean? The Urban Dictionary says -- "To say or do something without preparation, forethought, or sufficient information or experience; improvise:" and that certainly may be true but I like the Free Merriam-Webster version better.

George Gershwin said "Life is a lot like jazz... it's best when you improvise."  The English National Ballet may be winging it  this Thursday at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

According to Christopher Walken -  "... improvising is wonderful. But, the thing is that you cannot improvise unless you know exactly what you're doing.
I'm guessing this applies to cowbells too.

Itzhak Perlman winging it. He has said of improvising "That makes classical music work, the ability to improvise."

More of me comes out when I improvise.
